If you don't already know me . . .
ROBOT

My name is Jason, I am in the process of starting a new career as an ROV pilot/maintainer working for Oceaneering out in the Gulf of Mexico. I used to work as a Field Service Technician for L-3 Communications based out of Salt Lake City, UT. I am an Army vet and a University of Florida grad, but yet still have no clue whats going on in my life. I'm interested in history and the human condition, and also computers and electronics. I dig Sci-Fi and Hip-Hop, College Football and sometimes even country music - you really never can tell. I make chain mail armor and have been known to build the occassional robot (although its been a while since I made my last one). Even tried to make a hovercraft out of foam board once (it WILL fly, just give me more TIME!)

I am currently in Lafayette, Louisiana enjoying the land of Mardi Gras! My new career has me operating underwater ROVs in the Gulf of Mexico for Oceaneering International Inc. I am pretty excited about this new work and living back in the US!

I was in . . . UAE. I'm had a substantial improvement in standard of living there. I'll be sure to add some photos and facts later so my friends and family can see what Im up to! (1 year)

I was in . . . Iraq, check out how great we have it  now, better than when we lived here!. I found a pretty good to do list if you want to simulate the experience here. Happy Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas 2004! (3mos)

I was in . . . Osan AFB in South Korea! Only 2 mos or so for vacation relief was the plan, but plans change. First it was a week and then two trimmed off before heading to Iraq, then the Army decided it wanted me back! Gack! I'm in the process of applying for an exception to policy based on my work (I'm fighting the war on Terror and contributing to the defense of the nation, so why pull me out of the loop for month?). Still waiting for word, shouldnt be too long...left Osan still waiting for word. (2 mos)

I was in . . . Augusta, GA, this year I was around for The Masters Golf Tournament. I live in a nice little apartment by the highway - but hidden from the sight and sounds of the road by a nice thick tree line, and work on Fort Gordon at the MEV site here. No too much to do in my off time - especially compared with Las Vegas, so I've been playing computer games and watching movies. Trying to get back to working out again. (5 mos in Augusta, 1mo in Baltimore, 1.5mos at Ft. Bragg, and back to Augusta for 1mo)

I was in . . . Indian Springs, NV about an hour northwest from Las Vegas. I live in Vegas right on the strip, its not bad, but far from work and represents alot of lost cash if I ever start getting enough off time to go and waste money there. Work goes well, I work on a plane called the predator, its pretty groovy. Love life is at a dead stop since my last run in with a woman in Salt Lake, Im waiting for her to mail my heart back in a box. Thats about if for here. (1mo)

I was in . . . Sierra Vista, AZ working on Ft Huachuca. I am here to support some technology demonstrations on the Hunter UAV. Its not too bad a gig, but definitely a well-known haunt to me as this is the third time I have been assigned here! (3 mo)

I was in. . . Salt Lake City, UT working at the L-3 plant, training with the engineers here for my upcoming demos at Ft Huachuca, AZ. (1 mo)

I was in. . . Lakehurst, NJ working at the Lakehurst NAS here, helping out with Guardrails and other various odds and ends. My first assignment for L-3, Im hoping/expecting to be going overseas soon (theres a war on!)(1 mo)

I was in. . . The US Army, and my favorite time was working on Guardrail aircraft in South Korea = )

No Man Knows What Tomorrow May Bring

Short term:

I'm in UAE for the time being, but who ever knows how long? I'm still trying to focus on getting my A+ cert and starting to train up again, y'know, workouts and diet and the like.

Long term:

1] Build up some cash and pay off some bills - DONE! YEAH ! !

2] Put money away to but a house or condo so I can own instead of rent - yippee!

3] Finish up my undergrad work in Electrical Engineering and get some certifications (like A+) then go back to school for Grad work in EE or Anthropology.

4] Polish up my Russian and start to write again, Fiction and Anthropology.

Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
